Allied Electric was chosen to feature in the Green Vehicle Parade as part of the Bright Green Fair at the high-profile United Nations Climate Change Conference, held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The Peugeot-based eExpert Tepee MPV is part of Allied’s range of all-electric commercial and passenger carrying vehicles.  Powered entirely by lithium-ion battery technology, Allied’s cars and vans expel zero CO2 emissions or pollutants in operation.

Allied’s eExpert Tepee joined a select group of alternative fuelled vehicles that were presented to Copenhagen’s Lord Mayor, Ritt Bjerregaard and Environmental Mayor, Klaus Bondam, as well as delegates of the Climate Change Conference.

The electric vehicles were then fitted with GPS software, before taking part in the CO2 E- Race which saw the vehicles trace out “CO2” by driving through the streets of Copenhagen and finishing at the Town Hall.  The vehicle parade was shown live on big screens in Radhuspladsen Town Square and on screens inside the main conference venue.

The Green Vehicle Parade’s CO2 race aimed to spread the message and intent of climate change awareness and to show how CO2 friendly vehicles can make a substantial contribution to sustainable living.

Allied Electric’s Managing Director, Paul Nelson, commented: “This was an exciting opportunity for us to show how electric vehicles can play a crucial role in meeting CO2 reduction targets.

"We have had a lot of interest in our range of electric vehicles both nationally and internationally and were delighted to be chosen to feature in the Green Vehicle Parade, to promote Scotland and the UK as a centre of excellence in the production of environmentally friendly vehicles.”
