Allied Make a Splash
A team from Allied Vehicles took part in a white water rafting event to raise funds for the Anthony Nolan Trust.
Rafting their way to the finish line on the River Tay the crew had an exhilarating experience and were delighted to participate for a worthwhile cause.
Leukemia
The Anthony Nolan Trust exists solely to save the lives of adults and children who are suffering from leukemia and related diseases. The charity operates a register of over 380,000 volunteers willing to donate some of their blood stem cells should their tissue type match that of a patient desperately in need. They also conduct pioneering research into the treatment of bone marrow disorders and improving the effectiveness of bone marrow transplants.
The Trust's Anne Hughes commented: 'The Anthony Nolan Trust takes back lives from leukemia by managing a register of 380,000. We're delighted that the team from Allied Vehicles joined the race. The event was very successful and we raised over £13,000 in total from this event.
Overboard
Following a brief introduction to the event on dry land the teams of river rafters were straight into the water and riding the rapids to the finish line. With one 'man overboard' the Allied Vehicles raft and the rest of the team made it safely back to dry land - if a little wet!
Allied Vehicles General Manager, Peter Facenna, commented: 'As much as we had a great time participating in the event it's important to remember those with leukemia and how much they need the support of the Trust.
